New Europe EPO patent by 3F Security AB

Summary of wM-Bus & Mioty Network visa vie SE-539932C2 and EP3479068 Patent

 The idea.

In 2012, 3F Security AB was founded with the sole purpose of doing R&D and field testing in the fields of protection and security. The first patent was filed in 2016 and was awarded to 3F Security AB in January 2018 as Swedish patent SE539932. The patent covers techniques for enhancing and adapting single-direction measuring networks, which are primarily utilized for energy monitoring systems in real estate management systems. The company 3F Security AB received the European patent EP3479068 from the EPO four years later, in October 2021. This invention was created to improve more dated systems like wM-Bus as well as more recent system technologies like Mioty and Lora WAN in general. It was extruded from the Swedish patent. The 3F patent's technique concept now makes it possible for both transmissions of  slow measurement data such as energy and simultaneous fast alarms for e.g. water leakage, fire alarm, burglary, etc.

A brief description of the patent!

The reliability and robustness of broadcast-unicast mode transmission will increase by using alternative gateways to listen of alarm sensor devices as it minimizes the risk of interference and signal attenuation caused by environmental variables or other devices operating on the same frequency. As it doesn't require any prior association or addressing between the sensor and the gateway devices, this guarantees that the alarm signal reaches all of the gateway devices within the range of the sensor.  The message is 100% genuine after the redundancy check, which is when more than one equal signal is received!

New systems, new technology, new challenges!

The simplest course of action for you, as the property owner, is to relinquish total control to the market,

which will address any new demands in the building and reduce the cash flow by a certain percentage

and containing sub-installations of various heritage networks and goals from various market actors.

  • Tenant demands, the new regulations from the EU, and then any spillover to the property usage operation are all things to take into account.
  • The installation of a new, essential business system that operates throughout the entire building and has the majority of the newest features that the market (tenant) requires is made feasible thanks to 3F!
  • You can improve and refresh the usage of your idle resource by utilizing IMD network system to the fullest extent in order to handle as many secondary class function alarms as possible.
  • The current IMD system can now handle critical alarms securely and redundantly thanks to the 3F European patent. Prior to this, this was impossible!
  • It is less expensive to update an existing IMD property system with 3F capabilities rather than replace it and to integrate newly requested features with new types of networks and operators.
  • Numerous OMS-certified Nordic and European suppliers already offer new styles of future-proof certified IMD, OMS sensors for various security applications, including fire alarms, water leak sensors, open doors, alarm buttons, and more.

The maintenance of the 3F system takes place on three different levels:

  • Level 1. Central system is managed by the Property Owner, the Housing Rights Association or a contracted Operator.
  • Level 2. Gateways, collection unites are installed with updated software to fully handle 3F functions.
  • Level 3. Set up of various types of 3F functions such as fire alarms or personal senior alarms etc. is a task for the responsible operator to distribute and manage to individual tenants.

The installed, fixed IMD system in the property normally has a lifespan of at least 15-20 years and the sensors' battery life is between 12 - 16 years. However, there is a statutory requirement to change water meters after 8-9 years for guaranteed measurement quality. The natural business case for replacing older components is weak because the lifetime and IMD system agreement for detailed system details is more than 15 years.
